Area of Work

The Moosi River passes through the district and is a major water source for agriculture. However, dumping of industrial and toxic effluents and waste in this river has rendered the fertile soil unfit for cultivation. Therefore, farmers discontinued cultivation of food crops and shifted to fodder cultivation instead. Reduction in food grain farming resulted in migration and shift to menial labour work. MVF’s work started in this context and covers the East Ranga Reddy District.
